Kap G is an American rapper, singer-songwriter and actor from College Park, Georgia who rose to fame with his collaboration with Chris Brown on the single ‘I See You.’ He has released four studio albums in total, beginning with ‘Like a Mexican’ in 2014 and most recently ‘No Kap’ in 2019. He is also well known for his singles ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Gettin’ It’, ‘Freakin N Geekin’ and ‘Marvelous Day’.

Early Life

George Ramirez (born February 5, 1994), better known by his stage name Kap G, was born and raised in College Park, Georgia. His parents are originally from Mexico and he is of Mexican descent. He attended North Clayton High School where he first discovered his love for music.

Career

Kap G began recording music as a teenager at home and quickly gained notoriety in the Atlanta area. He met Pharrell Williams while performing at a concert in 2013 and subsequently signed with Atlantic Records. His first major hit was on the single ‘I See You’ featuring Chris Brown which was released in 2014. This led to him releasing his debut album ‘Like a Mexican’ in the same year. In 2016 he released his second album ‘Supa Jefe’ which featured production from the likes of Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Mike WiLL Made-It and more. The album contained singles such as ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Gettin’ It’, ‘Freakin N Geekin’ and ‘Marvelous Day’.

Recent Activity

In 2019 Kap G released his third studio album ‘No Kap’. It contained the singles ‘Want My M’s’, ‘Tatted Like Amigos’ and ‘A Day Without a Mexican’. Kap G has also collaborated with other artists such as Childish Gambino and Wiz Khalifa. Additionally, he starred in the film Dope (2015) by Rick Famuyiwa.
